Saints around the Cross- Lawrence OP You see the saints we remember are celebrated because God’s grace shone brightly in their lives. They are not remembered for being perfect. They are not remembered for their nonstop piety. We honor them because they managed, in their occupations and situations, to glorify God in word and deed. That’s our job, too. We are imperfect people who seek to follow Jesus and to Glorify God in our occupations and situations. So we remember the saints, in all their messy glory. In see how God could work in their lives, we begin to see how God could work in our lives. How cool is that? From Calendar of Saints by David Beal, updated by Scott Gunn O God, the power of the powerless, you have chosen as your witnesses those whose voice is not heard. Grant that as those women first announced the resurrection though they were not believed, we too may have the courage to persist in proclaiming your word, in the power of Jesus Christ.
