The 6th annual Third Order retreat was held at the Little Portion Friary on Long Island this past weekend (April 17th, 18th & 19th). Although traditionally held in the Lenten season, it was held in Eastertide this year. What a joyous time. The weather was beautiful, and the Easter season along with spring gave it a renewal feeling. Third Order Brothers and Sisters came from as far away as Canada and Virginia! Marsue Harris was noviced at Eucharist on Saturday and two inquirers, Susan Valdes-Dapena and Gloria Pelaez, attended as well. There was ample time for quiet reflection, good conversation and great food. As ALWAYS our First Order brothers made us feel welcome and part of the Franciscan family. We also had the opportunity to meet and spend time with four Brothers who were visiting from the Pacific Islands. (See below)
